Treadmill Ratings Online - Are You Getting Scammed By Dirty Tricks?
By Bret Spottke
You're shopping for a treadmill online and feel pretty confident that the machine you’re about to buy is a good investment, until you discover 20 different ratings on your intended machine.
Consumer reports says one thing, the consumer opinion websites say another, and the guy at the local
treadmill store disagrees with both of them. Worse yet, there are hundreds of independent websites that contradict each other on brand reliability and quality.
Now you’re more confused than ever. Who are you suppose believe?
Here's a quick checklist you can use to help tell the difference between treadmill rating scams and
legitimate treadmill ratings online.
First, when trying to establish the reliability of the information you're getting, look
at the source. Does the person giving you the ratings have any credentials or do they only
have their best interests in mind?
Chances are if you're relying on ratings and opinions from the guy at the local treadmill
store they're going to bash every model they don't carry in the store. After all, their job
is to get you to buy the most expensive treadmill in the store so they can make a commission.
If you're getting your treadmill ratings from consumer reports, you may not get the unbiased information you think you are.
Consumer reports only reviews and rates treadmills that the manufacturers send to them. You'll find some glaring omissions in their treadmill ratings with many brands and price ranges not represented fairly (if at all).
Then there’s the large consumer opinion and review sites, where you’re more likely to get confused than helped.
The reason for the unreliable treadmill ratings from these sites is that you're getting your information from people that have just purchased a treadmill (quality problems usually set in after a few months of use) or have no idea what's they're talking about (sad but true).
The biggest offenders in the treadmill ratings game are the "independent" treadmill ratings and review websites that are a dime a dozen, and they have a dirty little secret up their sleeve I bet you don't know about.
Want to know what the secret is?
The "independent website ratings" are entirely based on the website owner making a big fat commission off you!
You heard me right. They only rate treadmills highly if they make money by scamming you!
Don't believe me? Why do you think you never see their picture, background information or credentials on their website? Did they just forget to put it on there? Or are they scamming you? I’ll let you decide that for yourself…
