Buying Your Treadmill
By Jeanette Pollock

The first step to buying a treadmill is finding the type that you like best. To save you the effort of going around and looking into different stores, you might want to try to visit a few local gyms and look at their equipment. Better yet, you might even try them out. Many gyms offer monthly memberships and/or trial periods. Take advantage of these offers. They will provide you with two advantages. First, they will help you make a better purchasing decision when it comes to your treadmill. Second, the trial membership will most likely get you started on the road to physical fitness.

There are many types of treadmills in the market, and prices can vary widely depending on the particular machine that you choose. A simple man-powered treadmill simply has rollers underneath – this means that you have to do all the work. It’s also quite cheap. The more expensive, advanced models are more adjustable and offer you greater flexibility in your workout. These models can be adjusted for speed and incline. They also have timers for the distance traveled, the calories burned, and your current heart rate.

Even if you’ve decided on the model that you like, take some time to shop around. It is entirely possible to find a model that is not very popular, but is nevertheless a good buy. Be sure to ask the right questions, and whenever possible, to try the merchandise out.

Buying a treadmill is an excellent step towards getting in shape – provided, of course, that you actually use it. Don’t just spend your money on the treadmill; spend time on it! That is the only way that you can hope to achieve the right results.
